The Different Types of Bathroom Tile Materials
If you are looking to offer your bath a new appearance by
getting a suitable tilework, here are some of the materials which you can
choose from:
Ceramic Tiles:
These are the most widely used materials and could be
available in a wide range of colors, textures, designs, and sizes etc.
You can also get them custom-made if you want them to be in
a specific shape or color.
Terracotta Tiles:
These are the age-old tiling materials which offer a great
view to any part of your house. They are
mainly red or earthy in color.
Terracotta tiles might need a sealing job to stay healthy,
once every two years or so.
Vinyl Tiles:
Vinyl tiles are low in cost, resilient in nature and easy to
be installed. They resist cracks etc. and are available in a number of colors.
But if you need a substantial aesthetic appeal, the ceramic
or porcelain tiles might turn out to be a
better option.
Stone Tiles:
You can get granite, marble or limestone tiles too in your
bathroom. These are extremely strong natural stones and offer a great view.
While getting them, ensure that you have an optimum budget
and these are available in the design you need.
Wooden Tiles:
These are considered by those who wish to have a classic
appearance in their bath.
However, wooden tile flooring might not be suitable for wet
and humid places and need to be carefully sealed.
Cork Tiles:
These are non-slippery tiles that are better than woods and highly
suitable for kids or senior-aged people.
But they do get scratched easily and need to be sealed very
well to repel water on their surface.
Glass Tiles:
Glass tiles are available in a wide range of tints and these
are extremely easy to clean too.
However, these are not too great an option for the floors as
they tend to be slippery and a person can easily slip on them.
Cement Tiles:
Cement tiles tend to be extremely strong and durable in
nature.
However, they are not as great an option as far as the
aesthetic appeal of your bathroom is concerned.
Porcelain Tiles:
These are extremely durable, hard, water resistant, scratch
resistant, stain resistant and have all the attributes of a good bathroom tile
material.
But as compared to their closest relative ceramic tiles,
porcelain tiles are highly expensive.
So while you remodel your bathroom, it is essential to
choose the tile material carefully and get them installed by an expert bathroom remodeling contractor only.
